What Should I Do About My Swimming Pool Now That Spring Is In The Air?

Check all equipment for leaks

For those of us that live on the west coast we’ve had one of our warmest winters ever and we know that we are extremely fortunate. Now that it is almost March, many swimming pool owners begin thinking about relaxing dips in the pool, BBQ’s and warmer temperatures. The popular question that gets asked a lot is,  “should I start doing something with my swimming pool to get prepared for swim season?” The answer to that question is yes and on the west coast it’s not too big of a hassle because it’s not necessary to winterize our pools.

FIrst and foremost, we recommend hiring a reputable swimming pool company to come in and do a thorough inspection of the swimming pool. It should include the following steps:

  • Check the swimming pool for leaks (this is big because of our severe drought situation in California)
  • Check all the equipment and plumbing for leaks (even minor leaks can cause problems later on)
  • Make sure all filters, pumps and motors are working correctly
  • Check water chemistry for optimal chlorine, pH, calcium hardness and phosphate levels
  • Look into hiring a swimming pool company that can service your pool weekly so you can enjoy it without any hassles.

Nothing better than having a clean, sparkling swimming pool.

Pool maintenance is so important and often not the first thought when a family begins ownership of a new pool, whether it be related to buying a house with an existing pool or buying a new pool to add to their current house/backyard. Even in the areas where it is required to winterize a pool it is not a huge chore to have a pool maintained for spring, which is why pools are so great to own and can be so beneficial to one’s health when they are able to have so much enjoyment and exercise!

    Hi Kris C.,

Bay Area Pool Service / Pool Troopers is a client of ours and we are working with them as they transition to operating under Pool Troopers solely as of December 1, 2018. We noticed that you linked BAPS within your profile name, https://www.bayareapoolservice.com/. We would like to update the URL link from Bay Area Pool Service to Pool Troopers. Any assistance you could provide to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.

    New URL: https://pooltroopers.com/

Here is a link on their website that discusses Bay Area Pool Service going national and becoming Pool Troopers (so you know this request is legitimate).

Many thanks in advance for your assistance,
